Alternate Directions for Knitting in the Round:

Cast on 25 (29, 35, 41). Divide stitches evenly between three double pointed needles. Being careful not to twist, K1 row, P1 row for 8 (10, 12, 14) rows (i.e., in garter stitch).

Begin decreases:
K 10 (12, 15, 18), K2 tog, K1, K2 tog, K 10 (12, 15, 18).
K 9 (11, 14, 17), K2 tog, K1, K2 tog, K 9 (11, 14, 17).
Continue decrease pattern until 17 (19, 23, 27) stitches left.

Ribbed Cuff:
K 1, P 1 around each row for 4 (5, 6, 7) rows. Double the rows for a fold down cuff. Bind off loosely.
Sew sole of bootie.

Note: 1/8" or 1/4" ribbon may be threaded between the stitches to make a tie for the cuff
