Doll and Baby Buntings hand made by Sue W. Thompson The baby buntings shown above were made with size 8 knitting needles and would fit a newborn of about 7 lbs. For a larger bunting, use thicker yarn and/or knit with a larger knitting needle. I have also altered the pattern a bit by picking up 6-8 stitches under the arm when starting the sleeve. I knit the sleeves in the round using four double pointed knitting needles. This made the sleeves so that there was no seam to sew.
