Easy Double Crochet Baby Blanket

Materials:

DK or Sport Weight yarn
Size H crochet hook

Instructions:

Make Chain about 30” long

DC on third chain from hook and in each chain across. Ch 2. Turn.

DC in each dc. Ch 2. Turn. Repeat this row until blanket measures about 40” long.

Shell stitch border: Work shell st around border of blanket. Make shell st by *making 5 dc in same st, skip a st, sc in next st,* in next st repeat from **. Repeat around. Another variation of the shell st is shown below: (2dc, ch 2, 2dc in same st)
