Miracles Happen...

Materials:

Size H crochet hook
Sport weight yarn

Instructions:

Crochet VERY loosely if you want the blanket to lie flat when it is completed.

Round 1: Ch 5; join in a circle with a sl st to form ring. Ch 12 sc in the ring.

Round 2: (3 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc) 4 times.
Sc in the back loop of each stitch for the remainder of the blanket (excluding the edging)...increasing at the corners.

Remainder Rounds: Sc in back loop of each sc except at corners. At corners, 3 sc in back loop of the center (2 nd ) sc of previous grouping of 3sc. Since there are four corners, this will increase each round by four sc sts (one at each corner).

When blanket is large enough to satisfy your needs, complete last sc round and then start picot edging as follows: Sc in first sc; *in next sc (dc, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook for a picot) 3 times, dc in same sc, sc in same sc; sc in next two sc sts*. Repeat around.
Finish off.

Use this blanket in the car seat, baby carriage, or crib to bring comfort and warmth to your little one.
