Materials:

H crochet hook
Yarn A - 3-4 oz. ww 4ply yarn in any color desired
Yarn B - small amount ww 4 ply in contrasting color
Small piece colored pipe cleaner (about 6”)

Directions:

Rnd 1: With yarn A, Ch 3, 11 hdc in the 2nd ch from hook. sl st to join in top of first st.

Rnd 2: ch 2, *2 hdc, 2 hdc, 2 hdc, 1 hdc,* around.  Join with sl st.

Rnd 3: ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp, *1 hdc in next, 2 hdc in next, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st,* around.  Join with sl st.

Rnd 4: ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp, *1 hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st,* around.  Join with sl st.

Rnd 5: ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp, *1 hdc in next 4, 2 hdc in next,* around.  Join with sl st.

Rnd 6: ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp, *1 hdc in next 7, 2 hdc in next,* around.  Join with sl st.

Rnd 7-15: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st.  Join with sl st.

BRIM:

Rnd 16: ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp , *1 hdc in next 2 , 2 hdc in next,* around.  Join.

Rnd 17: ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp, *1 hdc in next 4, 2 hdc in next,* around.  Join.

Rnd 18: ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp, *1 hdc in next 5, 2 hdc in next,* around.  Join.

Rnd 19: ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp, *1 hdc in next 7, 2 hdc in next,* around.  Join with sl st.  End off.
